Berlin Airlift Series 2

The Berlin airlift development team consisting of Hartwig Rohrbeck, Dave Arnold and Glen Broome are pleased to make this early announcement of the Berlin airlift series 2.

Following on from the first airlift series of Oct 2006 - March 2007 we have a 2nd series planned which we hope will be even more successful. We have a revised version v2.2of Oberpfaffenhofen [EDMO] now available from avsim for FS9 and and version 1.1 for FSX. A completely new scenery for the airlift for this series, 3 months in development and 180 hours in the making is that of RAF Burtonwood in England, where aircraft were sent for their 200 hour inspections. We also introduce a new destination of Orleans-Brizy in France, which after an exchange of emails with a French pilot of the airlift we have discovered was where several French C-47's operated from in addition to Phalsbourg.

Further enhancements to several of the scenery locations have also been introduced which have added vehicles, maintenance platforms etc to give the airfields an authentic feel to them. Other 'surprise' enhancements are included which will make the scenery authentic over the time of the airlift of which more during the course of the event.

Here are the necessary files:

Update 1

3 key files containing the majority of the required NDB's were, due to their special location, not included in the original scenery uploads. This file contains 3 small .bgl files which should be placed in your fs9\addon scenery \scenery folder.

FSX

There is one package for FSX users which consolidates everything into one package and includes amendments to ensure items display correctly in FSX. My thanks to Hartwig for his beta testing and hard work in ensuring that FSX users were fully able to participate. FSX package

FS9

For FS9 users there are a number of files at Avsim to download and install [details are included in the attached word documents - see below] and 2 files required from the DCA server which can be downloaded using the following links: FS9 files and EZ Scenery

However if you participated in the last series the only new items from Avsim will be the later version of Oberpfaffenhofen and the recently uploaded RAF Burtonwood. Gatow and Fassberg remain unchanged from the last series.

In summary, if you have all the airfields from before for FS9, de-activate the old version of Oberpfaffenhofen and remove it and remove the old BAL scenery we provided and install the new one provided in the link above. All FS9 users should download and install the EZ-scenery from the link below.

One final item for FS9 users is the freeware Abacus scenery library installation which is available
